Texas teenager Ethan Couch, whose “affluenza” defense in a fatal drunk driving case sparked national outrage, will be moved to an adult court, a judge ruled Friday.
Couch, 18, had initially been sentenced by a juvenile court judge to drug- and alcohol-free probation for a 2013 crash that left four dead. He now faces 120 days in jail, the Associated Press reported. Couch’s case will be turned over to the adult court when he turns 19 and his 10-year probation would continue until 2024, the Dallas Morning News reported.
